Mizel Jewish Community Day School, the only Jewish Day School in Oklahoma, offers a unique Jewish environment in which preschool - fifth grade students are able to excel in academics, develop pride in their accomplishments and internalize Jewish values. Our professional staff works closely with our Judaic instructor to reinforce Jewish traditions in their classrooms as they teach a variety of curricular subjects with an adult/student ratio of seven to one. All students from the Tulsa area are welcome to attend.

Students are able to interact frequently with elderly residents in the Tulsa Jewish Retirement and Healthcare facility on the Zarrow campus to develop sensitivity and patience by reading to them and sharing monthly Kabbalat Shabbat services and special holiday events.

Hands on learning begins in our preschool program and extends throughout the grade levels. Students increase their level of understanding in a variety of ways related to literacy, math, science and social studies.

Leadership is developed in their early years as students present programs to their peers and parents weekly at Kabbalat Shabbat services, biweekly Tefillah services and at other celebratory events throughout the year.

Technology instruction begins with prekindergartners to access information and to extend the learning with competence and ease. Extensive writing opportunities contribute to excellent written expression and creativity. Art, music, and physical education are offered weekly to develop other student talents and contribute to their wellbeing. Special programs and field trips also enhance the curriculum.  

Our school mission, “repairing and caring for the world,” and nurturing environment all contribute to academic excellence, building character, and self-esteem. Our graduates excel in their middle and high school programs and are accepted to highly regarded universities. Upon graduation, they have become leaders in the business world, accountants, lawyers, doctors and teachers. We are also very fortunate to have our families, board of trustees, Heritage Academy Foundation, and the Tulsa Jewish Federation support our efforts.
