Mizel Jewish Community Day School History

Mizel Jewish Community Day School began in 1975 through the efforts of three Jewish families. The school was originally called Heritage Academy which provided an atmosphere for Jewish children to be immersed in traditions and the Hebrew language while also receiving a quality secular education. Through the observances of traditional celebrations and learning core Jewish values, our children find they become members of a close knit family that fosters the best in them and guides them towards future community leadership.

Today, Mizel Jewish Community Day School is the only Jewish Day School in Oklahoma. It is located within the Charles Schusterman Jewish Community Center on a beautifully landscaped 40-acre campus, which is linked to the Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art, Kaiser Healthcare and Independent Living facilities.
